The Journey Begins

Welcome to my site honoring my Grandma Gatewood!  Stories about her or hiking adventures are welcome.  The site is still under construction, so patience please!  I hope  to announce, soon, two published children’s books I have written:  “Grandma Gatewood Trail Tales, Appalachian Trail” and “Grandma Gatewood Trail Tales, ‘A’ is for Appalachian Trail.”

I am Grandma Gatewood's youngest grandchild. With my B.S. in Forest Resources and Conservation, M.S. in Early Childhood Education, and my love of children's books, I hope to re-ignite children's innate love of nature and encourage them to explore outside.

  3. Our book club just read Ben Montgomery’s book about your Grandma. Loved it! Children’s book is a great idea. (P.S. Do you mean “heel” instead of “heal”?)
